A Message from Superintendent Tracy Wrend Regarding Act 46 - October 30, 2018

The State Board of Education provisionally voted to merge the Stowe and Elmore-Morristown districts into a single district by July 1, 2019 yesterday. This decision went against our communities’ proposal as well as the Secretary of Education’s recommendation to keep the two districts separate.

The Stowe School Board has called a special meeting for this Thursday, November 1, at 6:00pm in the Stowe Elementary School Music Room to discuss the State Board’s decision and hear feedback from parents and community members. The Elmore-Morristown Unified Union School Board will also discuss this decision at their regularly scheduled meeting next Tuesday, November 6, at 5:00pm in the Morristown Elementary School Library.

We will continue to keep the community updated as both boards determine next steps.
