Jennie's April Letter

April 24, 2018

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful and restful break. This week we readjusted to school and finished up our unit on ocean and water. We also wrapped up letter J. Ms. Kim sprained her ankle this week so she stayed home to rest and recover but hopefully she will be able to return next week. The kids enjoyed making her a get well soon card.

Ocean was so much fun to explore, we read fiction and nonfiction books about the ocean. The kids made watercolor creatures, hanging jellyfish and painted sea shells. We also explored how some things sink and others float in water. The older kids each chose an ocean animal to research. They got to share their findings with others at circle.

We only have six more weeks of school as our last day is June 7th. The next two units will be life cycles and then community helpers. As we move toward the end of the year I am sending out our Preschool Program Survey. This survey helps us to reflect on the year and make changes for next year. Please fill it out and return it. Also the children going to Kindergarten next year will be going up to visit Kindergarten on Thursday May 10th. We will be walking up first thing in the morning.

As always please call with any questions or concerns.

Best, Jennie
