Dear Families,

The days are starting to feel like Fall! We have been doing some leaf rubbings, measuring our height in leaves and paint with leaf and stick paintbrushes.

Along with thinking about Fall we have been reading about Pete the Cat. Pete is a favorite in our classroom. We have read four Pete books over the last three weeks: Pete the Cat I Love my White Shoes,Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons, Pete the Cat  Rocking in my School Shoes and Pete the Cat and his Magic Sunglasses. We have made water colored white shoes, glued shirts with groovy buttons and made our own Pete the Cats. We have retold the story of Pete’s white shoes in several ways, made our own math sentences to subtract Pete’s groovy buttons and made a bar graph to show what our favorite Pete books are.

As the days become cooler it is great for children to have warm layers for recess. As we get down into frosty temperatures hats and mittens might be needed. Also please remember to sign your child in and out each day. We have our first half day on Wednesday the 18 of October and school will be dismissed at 11:45. There is no school on Thursday October 19th.

We will be continuing to talk about Fall and the changes we notice in nature. Ask your child about the things they notice changing. Talk with them about the trees changing and what animals may be doing to get ready for winter.

Please call me if you have any questions! 888-6707 ext.4Leaf Changing Color Free Stock Photo - Public Domain PicturesLeaf Changing Color Free Stock Photo - Public Domain PicturesLeaf Changing Color Free Stock Photo - Public Domain Pictures
