A Message From Superintendent Tracy Wrend
All of us at LSUU are looking forward to the upcoming community engagement forum. This is an opportunity to hear from you. What do you want to see as part of your child’s education? What opportunities do you see in the merger of the two school districts into one unified union? What are your hopes and dreams for our students? This forum is an opportunity for the Board, Administration and staff to hear from the community so please attend if you can. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 14, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Peoples Academy. The evening will include a light dinner, student entertainment and an opportunity for small group discussion around two of the board’s key areas of exploration: quality/equity and capital/facilities. We hope you will join us!
Faculty, staff and students are exploring ways in which we can collaborate as one unified educational community. This spirit of unity was exemplified by a brief half-time celebration at the Stowe v. PA Varsity Girls soccer game when all gathered for a short celebration and group photo. After the game, students at both Stowe and PA expressed an interest in finding more ways to connect. I look forward to highlighting more examples of collaborating in the weeks and months ahead. This is an exciting time for the LSUU community.
Our own Elmore School was recently highlighted in an article in kidsvt.com. To learn more about what a special place the Elmore School is, please read the article at kidsvt.com.
