About Health Services at LSSU

Welcome to the Lamoille South Supervisory Union’s (LSSU) Nursing Services Resource Page. Please allow this page and its content to serve as a resource. It should not take the place of professional medical advice or in-person physician/nurse evaluations.

Please feel free to contact me, Jordan Myerson, or any of our school nurses at any time there is a question, a change (acute or chronic) in your child’s medical status, or you would like to further discuss care coordination for your child.

Here at LSSU we believe that health of the student is directly related to his/her ability to learn. Our goal is to promote wellness from the perspective of the whole student. Our school nurses and health professionals are an integral part of the LSSU coordinated school Health Services team. Our mission is to ensure and facilitate that each student has an established medical and dental home. This includes establishing a partnership between the family and the student’s primary health care professional. Through this partnership, the primary health care professionals, along with our school nurses, can help the family access and coordinate specialty care, educational services, in and out of home care, family support, and other public and private community services that are important to the overall health of the child and family.

Lamoille South Supervisory Union and the LSSU Health Services Department supports the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations that all student aged children have an annual comprehensive well-care visit at their medical home (primary care provider).

Thank you for visiting our site, have a great and healthy school year,
Jordan Myerson
